Assignment 5: Travel Poster Series

DUE FOR 11.21.12
Make refined drafts of two of your thumbnails for each of your three posters. Your refined drafts should be 8" x 6", trimmed, and they should include color. For now, typography is optional. You will be bringing a total of 6 color drafts to class on Wednesday.

11.2.12 Friday

Given the damage done by the hurricane, take it easy. If possible, finish your posters. Otherwise there's no homework. Let's see where we are on Wednesday.

All reading from Camera Lucida. Keep in mind the terms punctum and studium. What is the punctum of your photo? What, as Barthes writes, "bruises you, is poignant to you"?

Bring in your 18 x 24" poster with your diagram and paragraph on it. Your design should intentional, not arbitrary.
